19th/20th April - Melville Round 1
Yes its been over 2 weeks since i should have wrote this but I’ve never had 2 minutes to myself.
Well had my 1st ever race meeting on the 600 and it was amazing,
East fortune was the Track and it helps as i love the place.
1st morning warm up i was 3rd quickest but never found that out till i got home on mylaps.com.
Qualified 4th in my 1st time out there on the pace and i was over the moon as i never expected it in the slightest.
1st Race Saturday-
What a first race!!!! my 1st ever race start as well and i was slightly nervous would be an understatement .Got away with the leading group after railway as my start wasn’t to bad but could have been better.
After a few laps of the 10 things settled down and i was in a group with William Monie,les shand and Derek glass. I made a very strong move on willy Monie to take myself up to 3rd and i held this up until the red flags came out, Very lucky i got 3rd as les shand passed me down back straight as i nearly high sided trying so hard to stay in front of him. 1st ever race 3rd Was an amazing feeling
2nd Race Saturday-
I was running really high up in about 4th again and i passed Willy Monie going round esses 1 and into 2, then out of no where he wipes me out going into the hairpin, so that kind of ruined the start of a good weekend, My Start was ok as well as i could see Paul and Michael out in front.
Overall Saturday went well apart from breaking my seat unit and a screen.
Sunday
Yet again it was dry and was looking good for another days racing,My head was all fired up to prove what i can do as i was still upset after being taken out so i knew what i had to do.
1st race Sunday,
Mr Monie didn’t appear on grid and we still don’t know why,
Anyway's i got a not to bad start, still like last into 1st corner but better than any start on Saturday lol
I was pushing really hard to get through some guys in front and i managed to get up to 4th. i stuck it out throughout race and i kept a steady distance to the leaders.
2nd Race Sunday
Must have been my worst start out of all 4 lol
was well back going into 1st corner, just like all my other races i had to fight my way up to 4th but Derek glass was going really well and was keeping with me for a few laps until he had arm pump in his braking arm and he fell back slightly,So i got another 4th and my lap time dropped slightly with my quickest of the weekend being a 1min 3secs. only around 0.4secs slower than my fastest 250 lap during the summer.
So its a sign of good things to come hopefully,
