Hey again Folks i know its been well over a month since i done one of these but its here...............
Now it was my birthday on the 30th so im 19 now ooohhh how things haven’t changed
Anyway's i had one race meeting this month it was the NEMCRC round 2 at East Fortune on the 21st n 22nd,Didn’t find out till the Saturday morning what class i was out in but i was put in with the open class which included Torquil Paterson,Michael Robertson,Greame Banfield,Dod Spence Again but the list could go on and on,Anyway's Friday and Saturday where a real mess as our attempts of sleeping in a tent were foiled but EXTREME Winds and Rain,Big thank you to Dougie Wilson and Family for housing me and john in the caravan for a night
Saturday
Awell we nearly got out on track but the winds were really blowing hard so the racing was held off the held off again until 3pm where the final decision was made that we couldn't race as these winds were not subsiding at all. My Dad wasn’t complaining as he had cracked open a Beer and also the seal of a bottle of whiskey to enjoy when we stripped bike for a quick service and clean!! The winds did eventually die down about 5pm i remember as myself and wee cammy Wilson went for a hard cycle round the track into the winds which we thought had died down a bit
Sunday
Sunday Morning was really bright and sunny and things were looking up as the weather remained the same all day,
Today we were going to get 1 Practice/Qualifying Session then the possibility of 3 races,
In the 1st Practice it was going really good bike felt ok and i was on the 3rd row alongside Dod Spencer.
1st Race -
Well i cant remember to much about how the race went but the start was amazing and i was still like 24th or something going into 1st corner,the 1st few laps i got held behind a slower big bike rider as he kept passing me on the straights and be in the way through the corners so by this time the leaders and cleared off and the bunch ahead,over the next few laps i got passed and stayed ahead and then i started to catch up with the bunch just in front of me,i got all the way up to 13th,Sounds kinda rubbish but i was in front of David Clelland who was dicing for the lead in the 600 class who finished in this race 17th,My fastest lap time would have put me 8th just behind Angus Green,1:03:363.
2nd Race
Really the same story as the 1st race good start again but still like last,This time i didn’t get held up and was just dicing about with the guys i caught in the 1st race,My tyres were feeling ok but still i had old tyres on from the last meeting in April which can never be to good,
I finished 13th Again but still i could not have got any higher on my little machine which was over 100bhp down on the guys around me.
3rd Race and Also the Last race of Day was Very difficult as my arms were feeling the strain and also the tyres were mm mm passed there sell by date now,all throughout this race i was racing with Dale Boardman Gsxr1000 and Marti Brown cbr1000. Id pass both of the round the corners but as soon as it got on a straight ,well they were like rocket ships and big blurs , But he last lap i had got passed them and had enough of a lead so they couldn't get me on last straight so i was 13th going into chicane but i managed to sneak 12th as the guy ahead of me must have missed his breaking mark,
Overall this weekend was hard as i couldn't have got much higher but it also showed myself and my dad what if i had a 600 or a 1000 that didn’t loose so much in a straight line
Maybe next year il move up again but il need to find the money first.
Next meeting May be the 17th June at Cadwell Park but il keep you Posted People,
