Hey Yall just had my 1st meeting of 07 at Croft,it was blowing a gale all day Saturday but it was sunny at least so it was all good,
Just signed in etc and seen entry list for 250's there was meant to be 5 but i only counted 3,one of the guys was last yrs runner up in the mro 250 class Barry Utting!! his bike was well sexy to be honest lol well kited as well as he won a few races against Gary may last yr.
1st practice went smoothly as i was just getting used to the bike n stuff,2nd practice/qualifying was not to shabby,tried to follow Mr utting lol but he just rocketed off,but i kept my head down and qualified 3rd in amongst the sound of thunder class so was well chuffed,1:39 or something like that.
Anyway 1st race came around lol this may have been a disaster at the line as I’ve never actually done a start yet lol but it was all good i only fell back to 4th going into 1st corner,Barry utting just took off in the lead,and i got myself up to 2nd ahead of the big bikes,i was catching Barry slowly but he still won by 8.1secs,so for my 1st race to only be that far behind in a 10 lap race to the runner up in mro was awesome 1:32:3 was my fastest lap, only 1.1 sec's slower than Barry’s quickest,
Hahahahah now the 2nd race was well different,the race go under way and i was 4th again but after 1st lap i got up to 3rd just behind the 2 leaders we came round to last corner and Barry high sided it big time,i then took the lead going round hawthorns 2 corners later,but as i got round the red flags came out!!!! booooo was well gutted,
Anyway's we got stopped and i now i couldn’t turn my bike off,awell i had to cut it off as my bike was roasting hot!!!all bikes got going and went to line but my bike still wouldn’t start,eventually got a choke up and got it going,some random Scottish guy helped me in pit lane which was awesome,Thanks!!
So i had to Start from pit lane,all the bikes went past and i got the go ahead and i shot off after them all,went round 1st corner and I s**t myself as I kind of forgot my tyres were cold and i felt it trying to kick out everywhere for the 1st lap and a bit,anyway's by the 1st 4 corners i had made up 4 places,and each lap i was getting quicker and quicker a picking of some more big guys on big bikes,My dad was telling me the commentator was going crazy for me catching up the leaders lol was pretty funny,but awell i managed to get right up to the guy in 2nd in 6 laps lol and i past him going out of suny,so by end of race i was only 1.5 sec's from winning a 6 lap race from pit lane lol,Was really really good but my arms were killing me lol,awell it was a really good race for me and getting used to the bike,
Sunday as most peeps will be aware got canceled due to high winds so that was a bit of a bummer,but i got to wait until mid April before im back out as i just not got any money left to practice up at Knockhill either on the 24th March or the 31st which is really really really Rubbish!!!
